03 / Important distinctions
Know the terms, not just the headline.
Small VPS is billed yearly. It is not a monthly subscription, and Small VPS plans are not upgradeable. The starter plan lists 24 GB SSD and 2 TB Traffic.
Cloud VPS has different billing cycles. Longer billing terms change monthly-equivalent rates. Compare total due, not just the displayed per-month figure.
Server location matters. Small VPS plans use US infrastructure; Cloud VPS location options are confirmed at checkout. A Nepal-based company or payment method is not the same as Nepal data residency.
You control your software. VPS hosting provides server resources and administrative access. Ongoing application maintenance, licensing, backups and optional managed services need to be planned separately.
